Fire 2nd generation & up Installation
Use these instructions to download and install the cloudLibrary by bibliotheca App on your Fire.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before proceeding with the below listed instructions, you will need to confirm which generation your Fire App is. If you need help determining which Fire App you have use the information here.
The Fire App will NOT notify you of system updates. To get the latest version, uninstall and reinstall the App using the provided instructions.
1 | Enabling your Fire
Go to the settings menu by tapping the settings icon or swiping down from the top of the screen
Choose Security (on some Fire Apps you will need to choose Device)
Turn on the option allow Apps from Unknown Sources
You will get a warning message Click Ok
Go back to the Home screen
Swipe down from the top of the screen. This pulls up the Quick Settings menu.
Choose Settings then Device (on some Fire apps you will need to go to Applications)
Tap on the option to turn on Allow Installation of Applications from Unknown Sources
Go back to the Home screen
2 | Download and install cloudLibrary
On your Fire Open the Silk browser and navigate to https://www.yourcloudLibrary.com
Tap on the Fire icon
Scroll down to tap DOWNLOAD: Fire App
2nd & 3rd generation and up Fire Apps click below
Tap Ok to message
Tap open Download complete.**
When asked “Do you want to install this application?” select install and then open.
*If your Fire is running Fire OS 220.127.116.11 the INSTALL button may be greyed out. If this occurs please press the POWER BUTTON to lock the device while on the install screen. Then press the POWER BUTTON again to unlock the device. This will allow the INSTALL button to be tapped.
**If the app does not install, please reboot your device, navigate to the Silk browser and tap on the Menu icon in the upper left hand corner, choose Downloads and then tap the MMMCloudLibrary file to begin installation.
If the app does not open tap on the Home icon and tap on the cloudLibrary™ icon to open the app.
Select your country and state from the drop down menus
Select your library and enter your library card number or ID/PIN
3 | Installation is complete.
You are ready to use cloudLibrary
** If prompt disappears, navigate to the Silk browser and tap on the Menu icon in the upper left hand corner, choose Downloads and then tap the MMMCloudLibrary file to begin installation.
Note: Some versions of the Silk browser have issues getting the installation to begin. If you tap on the file and installation does not start please update the operating system on your device to version Fire OS 5.1.1 or tap here for additional instructions.
Note: The dictionary feature of our app is unavailable on the Fire app. This is a known issue.
cloudLibrary is currently not compatible with Kindle Paperwhites or the kindle e-ink device Apps. If you would like to read ebooks on your kindle e-ink device please email firstname.lastname@example.org and request that Amazon allow compatibility with cloudLibrary.
